She still wants to remain at the top, in control.  She wants to be accepted by everyone.
In Act II her main obstacle is Hamlet.  More than anything i think she wants to know how he is feeling so she can be right there with him to comfort him.  She's scared scared, I think, because she doesn't know were to start, or begin in helping him.  I think she fears he is on danger but but, like I said before, she doesn't know what to do to help him.
Queen Gertrude is a sweet talker and that's how, I think, she gets what she wants.  She acts so sweet and innocent (which you can question about) towards all her friends and people.  I think she manipulates people to get them to do what she wants.  She, I think, expects it because she is Queen.  Everyone (especially in this time) is to rescpect who is above him.  It's not like she is excited to get what she wants, because it is what she is used to.  Believe me I am not trying to make Gertrude sound like a snot-she's not.
I think Queen Gertrude just wants to get down to the point of what's really going on-or does she know?  She's the type, I think, to strighten everything out.  Most of all I think she really wants to overcome her obstacle-which is Hamlet.  She wants to find out what's really bothering him and solve it
