Gadshill

To be honest Gadshill is a very confusing character.  He is always going away and then showing up at the most inoppotune times.  It seems like he is not even a semi-impotant characters.  Although he has had his moments in the spotlight, Gadshill is there by Hal's side at the most funny or sad times.  Gadshill probably does not know what is going on any more then the rest of the guys do.  Sometimes it seems as if he knows what he is dooing or talking about, but at other times he just jumps in the conversation after Hal says something.  Most of the time he just comments on everything other people have to say.  Adding his own input on an encounter or situation being discussed.  Adding a little spice to this argument or a bit more sadness to that tragedy.
Gadshill seems to be an anonymous character.  As if Shakespeare just threw him im there to add a bit more stupidity to an  already confusing play.  Gadshill has has moments of proving himself to be heroic and trustworthy, being a good friend and loyal to Hal.  He shows at the funnist time or the most deadened time, and then disappearing again for one more acts.  He seems oblivious to what the real serious stuations that the important characters are dealing with.  He always has his one line of great impo
rtance and then the rest is nothing.
Gadshill is a very confusing character.  I I wouldn't even call him a character.  More of a person who takes up left over space.  Like a hole filler to cover dead air time.  However, I do think that although he onlines has about five lines, Gadshill is important to the themes he is in.
