| Binding And Loosing In Hosea 4:6, God said, ... my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. So where do we turn to get the knowledge that will prevent us from being destroyed? In the Bible we find that two of the most potent weapons we have as Christians are binding and loosing. They are two of the six keys mentioned in the Bible. The first three of these six keys are held by Jesus and are as follows: Key 1: The Key of David Biblical references to this keys can be found in Revelation 3:7 and Isaiah 22:22. This key is related to the opening and closing of the doors to our: Hearts (Acts 16:14) Eyes (II Kings 6:20) Faith (Acts 14:27) Heaven (Revelation 4:1) Witnessing (Colossians 4:3 & II Corinthians 2:12) Understanding (Luke 24:25) Direction (Matthew 25:10; Luke 13:24, 25, 27; and Acts 16:26) All you must do is ...knock and the door will be opened to you. (Ref. Matthew 7:7). Keys 2 & 3: The Keys of Death and Hell Biblical references to these keys can be found in Hebrews 2:14-15, Revelation 1:17 & 18, and Revelation 20:6 and 14. The remaining three of these six Biblical keys are held by the believer and are as follows: Key 4: The Key of Knowledge: Biblical references to these keys can be found in: Luke 11:52 Woe to you experts in the law (Pharisees), because you have taken away the Key of Knowledge. You yourself have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering. Colossians 1:26-27 ... the word of God in its fullnessthe mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Matthew. 13:11 The Knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Colossians 2:2-3 My purpose is that they ... may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Keys 5 & 6: The Keys of Binding and loosing Biblical references to these keys can be found in Matthew 5:1-20, 16:19, 18:18; Luke 22:29, 30; Heb 12:28; James 2:5; and 1 Peter 1:11. The Bible tells us that we are to be fighters/warriors: Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (These satanic rulers of the air work through earthly beings). II Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.... We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.... That is, victory over demonic problems will not come through social reform, education, political action, or fleshly confrontation. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the Devil's schemes. Matthew 12:28 tells us that Jesus cast out devils by the Spirit of God. In Luke 10:19-20 Jesus says that he gave us the power to do the same. Page 1 of 2 |
