Belief in a Supreme Being:

    Candidates are requested to declare their belief in a Supreme Being - not the God of the Bible.

    The lost name of God as taught by the Royal Arch degree is JAH-BUL-ON or J.B.O. J = Jehovah (Hebrew), B = BAAL (Babylonian) and O = Osiris (Egyptian).

Masonic Teachings concerning Satan:

    "...there is no rebellious demon of evil, or principle of darkness co-existent and in eternal controversy with God ...." (P) p 85

    Grand Pontiff Degree: "Lucifer, the Light Bearer! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Strange and mysterious name to give the Spirit of Darkness. It is He who bears the light." (P) p 321

    "In Him (i.e., Jesus) was Life and the Life was the Light of men." John 1:4

Masonic teachings concerning Jesus:

    Knight of the Rosy Croix Degree: "... every true Knight will revere the memory of Him who taught it, and look indulgently even on those who assign to Him a character far above His own conceptions or belief, even to the extent of deeming Him divine." (P) p 310

   "I and the Father, We are one." John 10:30

   Note: Freemasonry never mentions that Jesus Christ is God.

Masonry claims to be a Religious Institution:

    "Look at its ancient landmarks, it's sublime ceremonies, it's profound symbols and allegories - all inculcating religious doctrine, commanding religious observance, and teaching religious truth, and who can deny that it is eminently a religious institution?" (M) p 619

Freemasonry is not Christian:

    Elu the Fifteen Degree: "... opening wide its portals, it invites to enter there and live in peace and harmony, the Protestant, the Catholic, the Jew, the Moslem; every man who will ... believe in the one, all-powerful, all-wise everywhere present god, architect, creator and preserver of all things...." (P) p 208

    This degree goes on to explain that the Hebrews had a distorted idea of God (Jehovah). That this was not the idea of god to the intellectual and enlightened. Men like Zoroaster, Confucious, Socrates and Plato understood the true nature of god and this was being passed on in Masonry. This degree also teaches the different names for god, including Baal, Molech and Melek. It thereby equates the God of the Bible with heathen deities.
