The trio made their way towards the main gate. Lucy held Luke scan the crowd for his two friends. Dalton taking a quick cat nap on her shoulder. As they gate came into full view it was hard not to notice Ryan and Dan. They were both wearing black baggy jeans and sunglasses, with their hair spiked, the only difference was in what shirt they were wearing. Dan was wearing a tight fitting sleeveless black t-shirt and Ryan was wearing a white tight t-shirt. The two spotted Luke and Lucy and made their way over.
“Hey man” Ryan said pulling Luke into a hug. “We left early and made a quick stop at the club to grab the head sets.” He said holding up three head set mikes. “We also grabbed the music seeing as it has the performance intro and stuff.” Ryan added as Dan reached into his backpack to produce the CD.
“Well lets get a move on,” Luke said with sudden energy.
Following the three men, Lucy pulled Daltons hat down to shade his sleeping eyes from the sun. She couldn’t wait to see them perform. She guess it would be noisy seeing as there were going to be celebrities present but she always enjoyed watching the sing and dance and wouldn’t mind a few minutes to get off her tired feet. For and hour and a half straight, herself, Luke and Dalton had gone on every ride they could get the two year old on as well as stopped to get a snack.
As the temporary stage came into view, Lucy felt a bit of regret for suggesting the boys perform. There was a huge noisy mob of teenage and pre-teen girls attempting to get as close to the stage as possible.
“Uhh, Luce, why don’t we see if you and Dalton can come out to the back while we perform and get ready… It’s pretty noisy and stuff,” Luke said, motioning to the barricade in which the talent contest performers passed to get into the area where they could get ready and warm up.
“I think that would be a good idea,” Lucy answered glancing sceptically at the wild crowd. When the reached the gate there was a moments pause while Luke quickly explained that he wanted to bring Lucy back with him, before they were let passed.
As the entered the enclosed area Lucy heard the crowed roar with applause. Apparently the main attraction had just stepped onstage. Glancing around at the other performs Lucy bit back a smirk. Most of them looked like the were just overly excited teenagers that had managed to secure themselves a chance to perform for whatever celebrities were here in hopes of them falling madly in love with them.
“Excuse me, are you B4-4?” a man asked approaching the small group.
“Yes, that would be us, this is our close friend Lucy and her son Dalton” Dan said introducing them.
“Your to go on stage 7th out of 10 acts. You get a 15 minute slot in which you may sing, dance and talk to the crowd. What song would you like us to have the lyrics on the TV?” The small burley man asked motioning to a karaoke TV waiting to be taken on stage.
“Uhh, actually we have our own music, and if we could shortly inform you what tracks we’d like to do we’d be pretty grateful.” Ryan said holding up the CD case with B4-4 written across the front.
“Great, it’s nice to have someone singing their own music, so far we only have groups singing things by other artists. Also we need to know what equipment you will need.” The man asked taking the CD from Ryan and looking over the titles that were written across the back of the case.
“Well, we have are own head sets, so if they are compatible with your system, they are already set to our voices” Luke said, producing the three headsets.
“I see their headet, so they will be compatible. Ill be back in a moment if you could find out what you’ll being doing in you 15 minutes.” The man turned and headed to another man on the other side of the area who seemed to be vigorously working a soundboard.
“I say we do ‘Smile’, ‘Go-go’ and talk to the crowd,” Luke spoke up, running a hand over Daltons short soft hair.
“I like” Dan said raising his hand in agreement.
“I second that” Ryan added.
“Luce, what do you think?” Luke asked turning to Lucy and taking Dalton from her when he realized shed been holding him for a while.
“I think that’s great, and if you can get a keyboard you guys should do that ‘Heart and Soul’ medley you guys do to warm up at the club.” Lucy said, thinking of the soft tune the three boys sat down at the piano to play and sing together.
“Man, why don’t I ever think of the things” Ryan said bopping himself in the forehead.
“Because I’m he o so brilliant female of the group” Lucy said with a cheesy grin.
“OK boys, have you decided what you’re going to sing off your CD?” The short man was back.
“Yah, were going to do #3 Go-Go and #7 Smile. Also we were wondering If we could get a piano or keyboard out on stage with us, we’d like to add a quick medley we do normally as warm up, to our set.” Dan asked.
“Great, and yes we can do the piano. I can’t wait to hear some new material.” With that the man walked off leaving to group alone.
The yelling in the background hit a full time high before dying down a bunch as a group of 5 young men walked off the stage. Lucy watched as each of them was tossed a water bottle and towel, before the headed back onto the stage and yells and scream roes again.
