Promises
Awaken
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
I see friends among friends
No place for myself
I'm sadly content; sitting alone
Watching the others converse
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
Siting under a tree; I spot
A familiar face
Faint smile is sent
Nothing in return
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
A quarrel is sparked in class
Superficial trivial subjects
The Others have no idea;
of the deepest profanities of lonliness and sadness
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
A throng of others
I avoid eye contact
A friend discovers my motive
My soul quivers as her icy innocent stare pierces my very being
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
Months pass; graduation calls
Deploma in left hand; empty heart in other
Displays of affection; I witness
Convincing display of false emotions
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
Memories haunt
Friendships dangle by a single thread
Soul grows darker
Colors melt into the engulfing black
I have witnessed
All the splendid evil and diabolical good
The world is in reverse
I realize
no one is out there
My spirit plummits into the ravines of sadness
Spine shattering chills overtake the body
I awaken; covered in sweat.
Relizing it was a dream
Being thankful to close friends
for preventing my nightmare it's reality

This poem is written to express how my nightmare was prevented with the help of my close friends, some of which will never know how much they've helped! Thanks to C.B., O.A., S.C., and T.V.
