Foolish Games
Ominous Thoughts
My body slumbers; yet my soul is restless
I look down, only to see a vessel;
Then complete darkness
Looking around; spiraling colors; time shifting; stillness
I find myself in the past
I look upon myself
Alone among friendly faces
Thoughts, my thoughts, are heard
Dark thoughts
that would rival the purest soul
I'm ripped from the scene and flung into another reality
The world is ominous
No laughter; only stillness The sky holds no stars
Dismal
A bright flash;
blinding in intensity
Senses become overwhelmed
As my balance takes flight; stumble
Solitude?
I'm I to spend eternity here
The light grows faint in the sky
It's calling to me
Slowly standing; I
watch the alluring light in awe
Such peacefulness;
I must see it up close
My hand reaches up into the sky;
The light is within grasp,
Blackness; then chaos
I'm torn from that place
I am soaring in the sky
My wings are spread
the air fills my lungs
The terrain is calm
Land near a small pond,
I fill my mouth with cool water
But my reflection?
What is wrong with my image?
My dove purity fades
As my feathers darken
The blue sky is overtaken
by thundering clouds
My purity is lost in the evaporating water
As my appearance becomes that of a blackbird
Panic overtakes
My being once again
The once peaceful terrain
trembles with fear
It's my fault
I take flight; into the thundering clouds
The alluring light appears again
With great haste, I move forward
But the light moves away from me
"Come back" my soul yells
My wings fail
I fall from the sky
Death is imminent
I close my eyes
"Open your eyes"
I hear from a strange, but friendly, voice
I look up and see
A figure against the clouds
Offers a hand to help
I take his hand
"Who are you"
But the wanderer remain silent
He points to the sky
The alluring light comes nearer
As I float up into the light, I look back
And see the figure once again
as these ominous thoughts are purged by the light
Light goes null
I awaken from my slumber
Ridden of those ominous thoughts
Thanks to a wanderer of reality
