| The 17th Scottish Open Volleyball Tournament (F.I.V.B. Approved) |
| Dear Volleyballers, Welcome to the 17th Scottish Open Volleyball Tournament which takes place over the Queen's Jubilee Weekend and is once again confimed as the largest tournament of its kind anywhere in the United Kingdom, with the best social programme, some say, in the Northern Hemisphere! To get yourself involved in one of the highlights this century is quite simple * Enter a team * Come along and enjoy yourself with all your volleyball friends The organisation of our Scottish Open Volleyball Tournament has been refined over many years thanks to a commited crew of volunteers who are determined to make this year's tournament the best yet! Once again we boast eleven different levels of competition from top National League teams to recreational sides specially formed for the weekend. The setting is particularly Scottish with the games being played on Perth's vast expanse of North Inch grassland bounded by the famous River Tay. The North Inch played host to the Battle Of The Clans a few centuries ago and this year's Scottish Open will see battling of a different kind as teams try to outwit and out play there opponents to claim the Champions crown on one of the 40 outdoor courts. The indoor tournament takes place on five courts and this year we are proud to announce that the three courts in the main arena have been newly re-floored which will help improve the visual impact of our sports for many spectators. The Social programme remains unchanged, why change something that is so popular? Our Scottish Ceilidh evening takes place on Friday evening with kilts and bagpipes to complement a range of fun dances, which are sure to get you on the dance floor. Saturday again sees our fantastic fireworks disco lighting up the arena filled with a sound bank of speakers to blast the night away. It's all here - it just needs your input to make it that wee bit special so don't let yourself down and sign up for this year's special - You won't be dissapointed. |
