People have known since ancient times that in astrology the year is compossed of consecutive signs in approximately 30 day periods and that
particular events could be related. There are also periods corresponding to centuries or more, also composed of consecutive signs. These cycles can
also enable us to predict what will follow in the future by knowing what has occurred in the past.
In doing this I came to use the four fixed signs in Astrology for designation rather than the four cardinal signs in delineating basic divisions. Being fixed,
they have the most importance of the three divisions of fixed, cardinal, and mutable signs because of their very basicality.
In learning astrology in the l980's and having first studied foreign languages for some 27,000 hours in both the l970's and on into the l980's, I bore in
mind that the four basic languages in Europe are: German; English; French; and Russian. I studied these in some depth except for English. German
would thus be the Germanic language for Northern Europe; English, the Anglo language for Western Europe; French, the Latin language for Southern
Europe; and Russian, the Slavic language for Eastern Europe -- these being the most spoken languages of these four groups.
Later in the late l980's I came to see that these 4 main language groups seem to correspond more or less to the four fixed signs in Astrology.
Compare their position in the zodiac and on the map of Europe -- Germany being Aquarius in the North; England, Taurus in the West; France, Leo
in the South; and Russia, Scorpio in the East.
Later on, in about the middle 1990's I came to see how the four fixed signs were representative of the four fields of knowledge in perception with
Aquarius and Germany ( Greece being an Air sign too) representing Philosophy in the mental aspect and organization; Taurus and England, an Earth
sign, representing science in the sensing aspect and common sense; with Leo and France, a Fire sign, representing Art in the emotional aspect and
harmony; and Scorpio and Russia (as also the US) being a Water sign, representing religion in the intuitional aspect and depth.
Finally in the late 1990's I came to see that starting from Aquarius at the beginning it proceeded though the four fixed signs in chronological order, on
finally to Aquarius again in the present era which is just commencing. Thus this would, it seems, form a kind of Gestalt when arranged in a column
interconnecting both horizontally and vertically, like the chemical elements do in the Periodic Table of Chemistry.
Thus starting with Aquarius in the zodiac like in the first of the year as with Germany but which would come later in eras, Greece an Aquarius sign
period began about 500 BC proceeding on further to the Roman Empire up to the later middle ages. This period being in Aquarius thus relates to
Philosophy in perception. The pioneer in this period was Socrates. It is the basic period in philosophy. The king of philosophies would be
Rationalism, with Plato being its chief exponent.
Their chief science was mathematics in organization with Euclid as its chief
exponent. Their chief art would be Classic Art in lithe, linear and abstract forms as with the Parthenon on to middle age church art. Their chief
Religion would be the Jewish and Early Christian, where legalism and strict piousness are most prevalent.
Then in the late Middle Ages on to about l750, time seems to proceed through
the fixed Taurus earth sign and the English people. Empiricism was the
main Philsophy in which earth and Taurus, common sense, induction and the
senses come most to the fore. The main philosopher was Bacon and the pioneer
was Galilio.
In Newton's physics matter most predominates, and it became the king of the
Sciences. In Art the more common people were most depicted, especially in
Dutch paintings, along with still lifes. Landscape paintings relate most to
the more concrete and sensate nature and texture of the Taurus earth
element.
The Religion in Europe would be the later Christian and the Moslem, where
the more utilitarian nature of the church came most to the fore. The church
would have a more secular influence ending with the rise of the more
political nationalistic churches in Europe.
It should be noted too that the first two divisions should be on the left
side of the Zodiac which also correspond to the left brain and the
individual with its Rationality and Empiricism and hence objectivity. In
the second half of the historical eras the next two divisions would be on
the right side of the Zodiac and thus correspond to the right brain and the
group, with its Idealism and Subjectivity and hence its more subjective
aspects.
Thus from about 1750 to 1875, time first seems to proceed through the fixed
Leo sign in the fire element and the French people. Idealism would be the
main Philsophy where like fire and Leo, emotionality, harmony and beauty
comes most to the fore. The main philosopher was Bishop Berkley and the
pioneer was Rousseau.
In Science, Biology became the main Science in this period. Darwin was the
chief exponent, where emotionality, holism and the life drive are most
accentuated. In Art the Romantic art was the king of the Arts where
idealistic beauty would be most displayed. The paintings of John Constable
in the 1820's are good examples of this.
In Religion the main ones in this period were the Eastern Faiths, coinciding
with the main period of their introduction into Europe and North America.
They most relate also to holistic harmony and beauty in Idealism.
Finally in the second half of the right brained subjective side of history, in Europe and North America from about 1875 to the present period of 2000,
time seems to proceed through the Scorpio fixed sign and intuitional depth in water in the USSR and the US.
Its main philosophy was Subjectivism, with four subsections: Phenomonology, Pragmatism, Existentialism, and Postmodernism. The need for
commitment to something beyond oneself comes more to the fore in the most subjective human
aspect. Here Kierkegaard was the main philospher for this period. Commitment to Religion by a leap of faith is stressed in Existentialism and also in
the philosophies of Dostoyevsky in the USSR and William James in the US. In Religion the Scorpio water sign is accentuated, stressing intuition and
depth. The pioneer for this period I believe would also be Kierkegaard.
In Science the basic aspect in Scorpio is shown in the scientific approach to Parapsychology studies. Rhine of Duke University in the US was its chief
exponent. In Art the subjective element appears again with such artists as Picasso where ugliness, pessimism, and disembodiment come most to the
fore. The style emphasizes the primitive, disjointed, and abstract.
In Religion I believe the king of Religions would be the ones where the most paranormal and occult manifestations would be involved. Beliefs such as
Spiritualism, Theosophy, and Pentecostalism were especially predominant
in the US at this time. Then too the US, I believe, has been a Scorpio
country like the USSR. Both have been very religious, though the religion of the USSR for a long time was communism. The Pilgrims came here
originally from Holland in order to worship God at the dawn of our history as a nation.
I would conjecture that the Sun sign for the United States is Scorpio, the Moon sign is Gemini and the Ascendent is Cancer, although I am not positive
of this. In this evaluation the Sun sign would naturally be the most important, followed in order by the other two signs.
Let's look ahead from the present 2000 period onwards and maybe for another 100 years, more or less. If civilization doesn't expire from
overpopulation, resource depletion, global warming and nuclear wars among other scourges, the second Aquarius fixed sign period will come to the
fore. Holism, hence globalism and world government shall predominate.
In Europe civilization should proceed to its central part with Austria and
Switzerland being its main exponents; recall that German is an Aquarius
language. Their ideas on Systems Theory and the United Nations shall predominate in the New World Order of the Aquarian Age. Outside of
Europe the Asians rather than the North Americans would also be predominant,
with their similar ideas on Holism.
Thus the main Philosophy would be Holism with perhaps me being the chief philosopher for this period and the pioneer, with these ideas on The
Infrastructure of Knowledge in a kind of Gestalt being a gateway to this new period.
I believe the Science for this period would be holistic, also, with perhaps a symmetrical relationship starting with Taurus on the left side of the Zodiacal
Mandala with matter and Science, It would proceed toward the center, involving plasma and bioplasma, thence to the outer Aura and Religion on the
Scorpio right side.
Another axis starts vertically from the top of the Zodiacal Mandala in Aquarius intersecting the previous horizontal aspect from Taurus to Scorpio. It
proceeds from numbers in Logic and Philosophy on to the center and geometry and symmetry on to the bottom Leo side in harmony through Art.
When the end products are combined they form a harmonious outer aura which should culminate at the end of time at the subjective seventh plane of
heaven, where man beautifully and completely merges with God and reaches infinite perfection.
We proceed from the original Big Bang, where matter is zero. The original state is essentially a black hole, with infinite contraction. From this state
there is an outward expansion, proceeding ultimately to an extremely rarefied state.
The procession is from the objective and pragmatic Taurus toward the subjective and religious Scorpio. As the universe expands and matter
continues to decay, it proceeds from mass to light in infinite expansion.
In Art I believe the older aspects and styles would combine with the most modern ones to form an eclectic artwork. In the 1960's VW Beetle (which
I think originated from Austria) the design was more from the l930's, a Capricorn decade, but the engineering was from the most advanced stage of
development in the l960's, an Aquarius decade. Like these Beetles, there were the English Beatles in the l960's that sang the modern Rock music of
the time combined with the old style ballad form of the Elizabethan era.
In Religion I also see an eclectic approach occurring, where the Western religions merge with the Eastern concepts to form a New Age Synthesis of
wholeness. As with the empirical approach to Parapsychology, Science would be used to substantiate Religion and its higher ethical realities.
I have done some similar research in Astrology. I took pictures of different signs, comparing the actual birthdates with their actual physical
appearences and smile configurations -- an empirical approach to the more ephemeral spiritual truths.
Note that although these aforementioned eras don't seem to follow any obvious planetary alignments they perhaps represent a new eliminatory
paradigm in astrology, as Einstein's elimination of the ether as a light wave carrier did in physics. But they do follow in consecutive order, hence one
can predict the next one to follow. The only problem is to know when the actual new period begins. One can get a rough idea of this by looking at
the length of the more recent past eras.
Another thing to note is that although this fixed sign pattern seems to be so predominant throughout written history I also see a lesser pattern which I
might denote as the passive moon shadow. This goes through consecutive signs in reverse order but seems to have only a 30-40% influence. It
would start In Greece in 500 BC where the Libra to Virgo transition appears to be followed by Leo in 0 AD to Cancer for the Roman Empire. Then
for England it is Gemini in 1400 to Taurus. For France it is Aries in 1750 to Pisces. For the US/USSR it is Aquarius in 1875 onwards. For the next
Austrian-Swiss and Asian areas in the second Aquarian primary active sun ray period it should be the Capricorn passive secondary moon shadow
period.
I observed these passive periods mainly by studying the channeled right-brained zeitgeist in the art work at these times. The art work for the last
Aquarius passive period has been the analytical, linear, streamlined designs in such structural units as automobiles and skyscrapers. In abstract
paintings it has been much represented by Jackson Pollock. But the greatest artist in this period, Picasso seemed more to portray the ugly, subjective,
discordant Scorpio active element.
Also in philosophy the analytic element of Aquarius appears in Analytic Philosophy by such great people as Bertrand Russell and Wittgenstein. Here
Russell in his "Principia Mathmatica" advanced his left-brained analytical ideas in mathematical logic but was grounded by such right-brained subjective
ideas as Godel's with his "Incompleteness Theorem".
Also in Science with relativity and quantum theory the subjective element of Scorpio seemed to seep in although we are still trying, unsuccessfuly it
seems, to relate analytical objective computer language to the subjective human mind in the reductionistic paradigm, for example.
I see for the future the combining of secondary passive old Capricorn some
with the primary active new Aquarius as with the Beatle art works where the past and future are combined. In science the Capricorn aspect might be
now
appearing some in String Theory in physics where like in its counterpart the
Cancer period of the Middle Ages, Scholasticism tried to combine science with abstract, arcane, convoluted theology. This too abstract mathematical
approach to science will fail, I think, like Bertrand Russell's ideas did. But perhaps I might have a better, more comprehensive and simpler Theory of
Everything in physics that could supercede String Theory and I plan to publish it soon.
Although secondary Capricorn seems to be less influential than primary Aquarius, I think it will be useful is in its frugality. The watchword for this sign
is "I Utilize" where hopefully it can be combined in the ecology of holistic Aquarius. Then we can come to look at the earth as one whole unit which
must be preserved and whose resources must be used sparingly.
But Aquarian Globalism of world trade and government through the UN, should also prevail, where the world differences in wealth and political
power should hopefully be leveled more. Maybe than we could have such things as a universal world car like the Classic rear engined, air cooled VW
Beetle from the 60s which was so efficient and hence economical to run but was also elegent too in a classic sense.
In delineating the four main nationalities in Europe and the four fixed
signs I would also like to relate their three main divisions. Having
studied these four language groups, I believe the German would relate most
to the French in having a more fluid and dynamic language structure of air
and fire. The English would relate most to the Russians in having a more
stable and static language structure of earth and water.
In a second relationship one could arrange the four main groups as to
civility and barbarism according to the time order in which they did away
with serfdom. The English were first, followed by the French; thus they are
in the most democratic half of the zodiac. The Germans and then the
Russians were the last to abolish it, and are in the least democratic half
of the zodiac.
In a third relationship one can discern an emphasis on brain hemisphere.
The Germans and English would be on the left side of the zodiac and hence
most left brained. The French and the Russians would be on the right side
of the zodiac and hence most right brained. Thus the Germans would be the
most competitive and individualistic and hence capitalistic and enterprising
followed by the English. Hence these two languages are the most amenable to
being read by individuals alone. The French would be more cooperative and
group minded, hence socialistic and peaceful, with the Russians being the
most this way. Their two languages are most adapted to being spoken
together in a group rather than read by an individual alone.
Here one might see how under Holism the former Subjective philosophy of
Wittgenstein would be superceded, where he thought we were limited by
our language in formulating reality. In actuality each individual's
language, like those in the four main language groups in Europe, would
merely determine one's mode of perception and categorization of thought. I
noted previously that the Germanic languages most relate to Philosophy,
organization, and rational perception; the English language most relates to
Science, common sense, and sensate perception; the Latin languages to Art,
harmony, and emotional perception; and the Slavic languages to religion,
depth, and intuitional perception.
In my other writings on my website I attempt to interconnect all these ideas
in more detail to better substantiate their internal coherence. For example,
among the subjects of science, mathematics in Aquarius and physics in Taurus
are the most logical and objective subjects, while biology in Leo and
parapsychology in Scorpio are the most humanistic and subjective topics.
In another relationship mathematics and parapsychology are nontangible
subjects residing in the imaginal realm of form in number and psi symbols,
whereas physics and biology are tangible subjects residing in the real realm
of mass in material and biological processes.
Thus, as previously delineated, there are two intersecting continua. The axis from Aquarius to Leo proceeds from mathematics, logic, and philosophy
to harmony, art, and rhythm. The axis from Taurus to Scorpio proceeds from
mass and science proceeds to the outermost auras in religion.
In conclusion, although I could discern, based on my extensive language study on a more subconscious level, how the structure of the four main
language groups in Europe relate to the four branches of perception and categorization, I think there is opportunity here for a person more expert in
these language structures to substantiate these ideas in more depth on a more conscious level. However, my ideas seem to be coherent and hence
offer a new paradigm for further research.
