No war, no hunger, no crime? It seems impossible but it happened. I can hardly believe it myself but here I am, seeing everything that was wrong in the world is gone. It's unbelievable what they're doing now in the world now that war is gone. Amazingly everyone is getting along better with each other.
Back in the early 2000's, when the whole human genome research was so big they learned some things to do some pretty crazy stuff with our bodies. It seemed right around 2015, the aging of our bodies was pretty much put on hold with the new technology we had(Koerner and Galloway). But that was just the beginning. Every few years more and more things started coming out. We had successfully beaten the AIDs virus and most cancers, some were still being worked on for a cure but all have treatments that are able to stop the viruses from spreading. Bill Clinton, the last president of the 1900s even said that he thought cancer and AIDs would be defeated(Clinton).
This is actually how the violence and war started to end in the world. At first they changed over the jail sentencing from going to jail to going to a doctor. But the doctor was a DNA specialist that changed a few things with the persons DNA to make sure that he didn't want to commit any crimes or be violent anymore. Whatever that specialist wanted to do to the criminal, he could do. This brought on some trouble at first because some doctors decided to play god and change around some other things and sometimes make him even a more sadistic killer if the doctor was particularly deranged. One time, with the computer chip technology available to him, a doctor made himself a small army of controllable killers. Most times this didn't happen, so most criminals were taken care of, not the imprisonment way, but the DNA changing way.
Around this time, it was decided that war should end, for many reasons, one being what a Secretary of Foreign Affairs said about that it is necessary for the both countries involved and the surrounding countries because of the prices of the reconstruction that happens after war(Cahill). Since that time an international law was passed that every baby that was born had to have the DNA change to make them less violent and more peaceful. It was thought that war would eventually get phased out by the younger generation not having that capability to go to war. This was going to take too much time they decided so it was added to. Every person who wanted to go to college needed it and to enter high school they got it also. It was called the "peace vaccine". It started out as just changing the genes in your body, but later they just put a chip inside you instead of doing the gene changing. This was an easier way to do it and they could easily mass-produce it. There were some concerns over the chips taking control like in the earlier days with the few doctors that did it but nothing ever happened. There was some concern over some of the robot helpers that were in the world that there increased thinking speed and intelligence would make them, as one person put it, "they might regard us as we regard poorly trained dogs(2001-3000).
All in all, people lived their long happy lives without war. Without the presence of war, the advancements of the 20th century seemed pitiful. Countries joined together and learned more about the world and space and science than was thought possible. Another renaissance was at hand. Knowledge was flowing and people were living their lives to their fullest. Without war or violence people thought it was heaven on earth. Families were happy and it just was a wonderful time to be alive. The school kids who learned about the wars and violence that used to on the planet couldn't believe that it used to be that way.
Violence was a terrible thing that used to happen. People now just think of it as a crazy time in history when no one knew any better. If they had only known what could happen if they would have stopped fighting a long time ago, the knowledge and peace of mind that it brought, it would have happened in a heartbeat. But leave it to technology, the same thing that brought us more weapons to kill and destroy each other, to get us something that would stop the violence and killing in the world.
