With a grade-point average of a 4.88, Eric Marshall has the highest GPA at Smith High School.
Being the lead (Junior) Marshal was a privilege, but I don't take it for granted. I don't get the stress from my parents, Marshall said. Most of the stress comes from myself. They only encourage me and are proud of me.
Marshall has plenty of colleges who want him at their school. Some of the ones he's looking into include the Airforce Academy and several Christian colleges.
In Eric's spare time he plays his favorite sports and enjoys rockclimbing. But the majority of his time he prefers to study. As a freshman, he took on a heavy course load including Honors Biology, Honors ELPSA., Honors Spanish 3, Honors Geometry, as well as Honors English 9. He hasn't stopped his relentless pace yet.As a senior, his schedule includes A.P. English 12, AP European History as well as other honors classes.
Not only is his academic record outstanding, but Eric has also built a name for himself in sports. He's played soccer for Smith for four years and made the All-Conference team. Marshall has also swum on Smith's swim team for four years and has set two school records for the breaststroke in the last two years. He's also earned letters for tennis and track.
As if that isn't enough the senior has held an office for Operation Smile for the past three years. As a junior he served as the club's President. Marshall was also the Co-President of SADD last year. Eric is also a member of National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.
Looking down the road, Marshall looks forward to the day when he can have more leisure time.
Life will hopefully be more laid back, he said when asked what he will be doing in a decade. I hope Ill have more free time and keep up on my hobbies.
But he never wants to stop learning.
You really need to work hard your first year because your junior and senior year, it can get very difficult.
