They say you can't go home again, but that's not always the case.

Smith's new junior varsity cheerleading coach is Anitra Goode, who graduated from Smith in 1993. Goode was a cheerleader for Smith from her sophomore year until she graduated.

She continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Goode continued as a cheerleader at Carolina during her freshman year at the Chapel Hill school. She graduated with a degree in Spanish last May.

This past summer Goode inquired about the Golden Eagle JV coaching position and landed the job.

Coaching is a new experience for me, Goode said. The group of girls Im with are determined and willing. Im really looking forward to a good year.

Goode said that she hoped to try some new techniques, struts and routines with the JV squad.

This years JV cheerleaders include: Shondra Morris, Shaina Morris, Sarah Morales, Lacresha Sanders, Latita Martin, Netta James, Cristy Mercer, April Murphy, Cherelle Roper, Ebony Jackson, Travis Glover and Latoya Smith.
