The first-ever Ben L. Smith Homecoming Parade will be held on Oct 16 at 4:30 p.m., one day before the Smith-Glenn varsity football game at Manzi Stadium.
�This will be an excellent opportunity to promote school pride,� said Jokena Smith, student council president. �We are asking campus clubs and organizations to take part in this festivity.�
Clubs are being asked to make banners to represent themselves. Each club will have the option to be transported by automobile or truck. Clubs can also choose to walk.
The parade will start at the Manzi Stadium parking lot and go down to Cypress Park Road, then loop back to the stadium.
All participants are asked to be in the student parking lot by 4 p.m.
The Student Council is sponsoring the entire event. It has planned the following fund-raisers: a car wash and a candy sale.
Among the featured groups in the parade will be the ROTC and the BLS Band.
