BURLINGTON For most, the night of November 13 was a typical night, but for those at St. Mark's Church it was anything but typical. Those people were lucky enough to see in action the latest Christian Music has to offer. It was a concert so great it will not soon be forgotten. Third Day with special guests Seven Day Jesus and All Star United.

The first band to hit the stage was All Star United. With the hard rock, harmonizing sound, and funny looking hats All Star United was a new band on the scene. The first album is to be released February, 1997.

This new music group stole the show. Very few had heard them before and didn't know what to expect. They come out on to stage with strange hats and weird glasses. Right off the bat, they started jumping up and down, and the keyboard player was even playing his solo upside-down. All Star United proved they could rock with the best of Christian Music. The four songs they played, including "La-La Land" and "Smash Hit", quickly got everyone in the mood to rock.

The next band that play was Seven Day Jesus. A band which was formed from West Virginia. Seven Day Jesus was more well known than All Star United. Their album "The Hunger" was nothing like the show. The concert was alot harder. It had everyone singing and jumping up and down. Seven Day Jesus has a sort of teenage rebelious look, almost punk-like with a hard, alternative sound.

Seven Day Jesus' concert was more than enough to pay for the concert's admittance. Everyone was psyched after they performed "Ashamed." As their act came to a close the audience anxiously awaited the next band. The lead singer set down his guitar and dove off the stage into the crowd. It was incredible. It capped the end of a great show for Seven Day Jesus.

This leads us to the final act of the night, Third Day. With a skateboarder look and a sound all their own, Third Day put on a great show. The groups fans were ready for an awesome performance and they were not disappointed. The concert was as clear and crisp as their self-titled album.

Third Day played at least ten songs in their act. After about four or five songs the band would take a break to lead the crowd in a prayer and a verse of "Amazing Grace." This remembered the crowd why they were there and was also very uplifting. They also played a new song off the next album called Alien," a very hard rock type of song. Other songs played include old favorites such as "Blackbird", "Nothing at All", "Take From me my Life", and "Mama".

Overall it was a superb concert. The three bands put on an awesome show and the crowd was very responsive and energetic. Maybe next time Third Day, Seven Day Jesus, or All Star United come to town you will spend $10 to go see a show that's worth it.
