A viola duet of a work by Wilhelm Freidmann Bach performed by seniors Reasey Heng and Logan Strawn highlighted the annual fall concert by the BLS Orchestra.
The Heng-Strawn team worked well together, particular during the elegiac Lamento.
Another well-done portion of the show was the full orchestras performance of Franz Joseph Haydns Symphony No. 47 in G Major. Coming off the duet by Heng and Strawn, the orchestra gave a rousing performance of this jovial piece.
Other works performed included Allegro Spiritoso by Jean-Baptishe Senaille, Folk Song and Shanty by Richard Meyer, American Folk Song Suite by Arthur Frackenpohl and Jazz Mood Suites by Francis Feese.
Jesse L. Suggs, the conductor of the BLS Orchestra, announced the attendance at 230. A cover-dish dinner was held before the performance.
In other news, LaSaundra Lindsey participated in the State Music Convention in Winston-Salem Nov. 7-9.
The Orchestras next performance is the Winter Concert Dec. 1. Music from Peter Ilych Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker Suite will be performed. The concert will also feature the BLS Band and Chorus.
