A Dance In The Snow
A sigh cross my face, as I sat down upon the chair and look upon the vibrant night atmosphere. It was the common winter high school gala at some ritzy hotel in downtown Honolulu. I was sitting with some of my friends on the wall just watching the people dance on the stage. I for one wasnt in the have fun mood to enjoy the ball.
I look above to see the December skies hoping that someday it will snow upon Hawaiian grounds of Oahu. Only droplets of rain plummet upon the luau party that is being hold tonight. It was a very early spring showers that also brings the icy winds. The crushing waves could be heard from where I was sitting. It was truly a wonderful evening that I couldnt appreciate.
Hello said a feminine voice towards me. I come from the meditation to see that it was Crystal that was speaking to me.
Oh hi I greeted back. I raise my hand to show to do a small wave.
Enjoying your self?
Not really, had a bad day.
Oh really, why what happen? She took up a seat next to me with a plate in her hand.
Well first of all, I couldnt use the car today because my brother got into a hit and run. From then on I had to use my mothers SUV that is very chunky.  I wanted my friends to come, but apparently they all stayed home and I dont have a date so I left with no one to talk with. Lastly I went to the bathroom for a second and when I came back I found my plate gone. He looks behind him to see where the plate use to be. All the neat desserts are gone as well. It just being a bad day for me. I sighed again and sink back into the chair.
You want it? she said. I looked over to see a piece of strawberry pie uneaten. You can have it. She gesture for me to take the plate.
No, cant take a dessert away from a girl.
Here she said as she took a piece of cake with her fork and aimed for my mouth. I couldnt refuse. I bit into it and smiled.
Its good, thank you. A soft mild music started to play and the rain stopped for a bit.
Do you want to dance? she curiously asked me.
I sway my head side to side and said no thanks. The reason is that I cant dance too well.
Come on and she grabbed my hand to the grass lanai. She hold my hand and we dance to the soft playing music.
Then it struck me what happen to the guy that I set you up with?
Oh him, I liked him, but he was too way popular to get my attention. I left him with the other people. I saw you looking down so I came to cheer you up. It started to rain upon us.
Thank you
No problem, that is what FAMILY is all about.
Family?
Yeah I realize what she done for me and I am happy that she did it for me. I sighed and closed my eyes as I pulled her closer because it got a bit more colder and soon the rain began to turn to snow on the Hawaiian grounds. Year later, I still remember what family is all about. Forget About Me, I Love You.
