V- The Pope - An earlier title for The Hierophant was The Pope used in this beginning deck. The stained glass window has nine colored panes with a white eye in the center. The white eye is Kether and God on the Tree of Life while the other nine panes are the nine lesser sephiroth. The seven yellow rays penetrate the World Teacher at various chakra points, opening the heart, the throat, the third eye and the crown of the head. The hands are held in prayer at the heart to symbolize Tiphereth.  The russet robe and reddish brown background are suggestive of the zodiac sign Taurus which rules this card.
