VIII - Justice - The Tarot order used in my original deck depended on the blind order of the Major Arcana, where Justice is Key 8 and Strength is Key 11. In the Golden Dawn system these two are exchanged so that Justice can correspond to Libra the scales and Strength to Leo the Lion. I was unaware of this symbolism when designing this deck but there are clues in both of these keys to justify this swap. My version of Justice shows Buddha wearing a Taoist yin yang mask, and holding the scales while meditating, equating the inner balance of meditation with the outer balance of the scale pans. But I worked behind the head of Buddha the eight fold wheel of Buddhism which was my main symbol for the Noble Tarot. In the esoteric order of the Tarot, the key Justice does not follow the Chariot but rather follows the Wheel of Fortune. That is why the eight spoke wheel is in the background to show that Key X- The Wheel precedes Key XI- Justice. The color for the Hebrew letter Lamed, which is the 22nd path on the Tree of Life, is green. The green of the mask, the scale pans, and the wheel symbolizes Libra.Yellow is the color for the card to be swapped with Justice, for yellow is the color of Leo in the card Strength.
