“Mrs. Claus”
-- by Joseph C. Dorffner, Sr. - Copyright 2000 --
Everyone’s heard of Santa,
but few of Mrs. Claus.
The lady in the background,
deserving a round of applause.
She wakes him every morning,
tucks him in every night.
Feeds him three squares a day,
and lights his candle light.
She struggles to feed the reindeer,
during their days of rest.
Takes time to check all new toys,
put them to the acid test.
She waxes the wooden runners,
there upon his giant sleigh.
The goodness of many children,
aids him in judgment weigh.
So come next Christmas Day,
when the credits all fall due.
Let's also remember the Mrs.,
she deserves a kind word too.
