“Remembrances of You”
-- by Joseph C. Dorffner, Sr. - Copyright 2000 --
Every now and time again,
remembrances come to mind.
Days recalled of yonder years,
thoughts to me unwind.
Memories of more youthful years,
of bodies in their prime.
When Jack and Jill ran up the hill,
then Jack fell down in rhyme.
Those days are gone forever,
not to be lived again.
But to let memories slip away,
would surely be a sin.
May your recalls in mental flash,
spark your heart as mine.
Though we’ve aged in God’s good grace,
as bottled sparkling wine.
So as I stroll down memories lane,
with you my friend in stride.
Let me share this thought with you,
“I enjoyed the buggy ride”.
