“My Mother”
-- by Joseph C. Dorffner, Sr. - Copyright 2001 --

My Mother wears silken slippers,
as she walks the street of dreams.
In a place known as Paradise,
where all sparkles, shines and gleams.

Her gown is of softest satin,
the luster of purest white.
It reflects her pure heart feelings,
such a wondrous and joyous sight.

Her hair now of priceless silver,
her beauty beyond compare.
Here she knows peace and tranquility,
that all God’s children share.

Though she walks with the Angels,
her wings have sprouted not.
Nor does she wear a halo,
though she sings and prays a lot.

But she’s with God in Heaven,
for the eternity of endless time.
It gives my heart such comfort,
that’s why I share this rhyme.
