“Little Boogie”
-- by Joseph C. Dorffner, Sr. - Copyright 2000 --
I sensed a little boogie,
sitting in my nose.
Reached up to grab him,
caught him by his toes.
He was slick and slimy,
kind of hard to hold.
He stretched here to yonder,
an ugly sight to behold.
I wiped him on my pant leg,
he refused to stay.
Stuck hard to my finger,
as though wanting to play.
I wiped him on a hankie,
there he smiled with glee.
Spread from edge to center,
like green slime there to see.
I tosed him in the washer,
there to take his leave.
I trust that little boogie,
gone forever now I believe.
