“One of Those Mornings”
~ ~ From a Man’s Prospective ~ ~

Woke up late this morning,
with sleepy in my eyes.
Couldn’t seem to get going,
so hopeless were my tries.
My shorts went on backward,
the undershirt inside out.
Two socks mismatched in color,
the shaving cream ran out.
Trousers had shrunk three inches,
two buttons off the shirt.
The necktie it was wrinkled,
the hemorrhoids began to hurt.
A cup of lukewarm java,
enough to slop my shoe.
A touch of eggs and jelly bread,
invited their own mess too.
Ran out onto an ice-slick walk,
the car it would not start.
I love living, but this is hell,
you heard it from this old fart.
