There upon the steps to Heaven,
sat a soul in deep despair.
Wondered why the Lord had called him,
from the family that showed him care.
Came a calling from the “Pearly Gates”,
“Please to come inside.”
The fears that there befell him,
made him look for a place to hide.
A brightness came forth beaming,
its warmth tranquil his soul.
He stood to face the radiance,
held spellbound by its control.
A voice came as gentle,
as a baby’s breath upon the ear.
“Come and join us brother,
God has chosen you live here.”
Escorted by two Heavenly Angels,
he stepped forward hand-in-hand.
Walked there through the “Pearly Gates”,
setting foot on the “Promised Land.”
