What is New Age Music? The New Age Music sounds like slow rock and it was arose by 1973. In 1973, there had a concert called ˇ§the San Francisco Festival in Honor of Comet Kohoutekˇ¨ in San Francisco. In this festival, there were a few musicians from different place like Joel AndresˇBIasos and Steven Halpern. They found although they never cooperated, they had something in common in music. For this common, they created a new type of Music, which is ˇ§New Age Music"

Steven Halpern once ever said the New Age Music must have four features, it include:

1.Harmony: The basic of New Age Music was Harmony, so New Age Music still used the major chord and minor chord. The different was New Age Music did not use the types like rock and jazz to avoid cacophony sound.

2. Melody: New Age Music surmounted the tradition way of making music, New Age Music added new element and find new way.

3. Rhyme or tempo: New Age music did not accentuate the tempo or rhyme and fabricated special space and situation.

4. Timbre: New Age Music did not use the cacophonous sound because it would cause the pressure in music, so violin, trumpet, and electric guitar were unfit in New Age Music.

For New Age Music, the purpose should bring the wonderful feeling to people. When people listen the music, they can catch the aesthetic feeling and enjoy the calm that the music gives them.
