| "Sun to the Moon" Written By DeeDee Shrogin On this road again. Though she has traveled this same stretch of horizon many times before, taking in what little sights there actually were to see, every time it differs. Whether it be the time of day, watching the sun setting behind her or the sun rising before her, the aura of the music that fills the small space or just the other vehicles that she ventures past, it is always different. But even in all the idiosyncrasies of her journeys, one thing always remains the same. Her mind always wanders back to thoughts of him. There is no escape from the timbre of sadness, and it overwhelms her. She feels the stinging in her heart as her eyes spill tears. She will give into it for only this instant. Choking back sobs, she lets it go. Silently she grieves in her solitude and then wiping the tepid water from her cheeks, she attempts to compose herself. Feeling foolish for having let the moment take her, she opens the window for air.Allowing the outside aromas to fill the car, she takes a deep breath and again wipes her sorrowed eyes. Maybe it's the realization she will never have his heart, that she has lost his affections, his touch, his warmth....or maybe it's just the knowledge that no matter how far she travels, from the sun to the moon, there is never escape from this hollow ache that lies within her. The weakness that has taken the place he once filled. But even in all this, with courage, she continues toward the skyline, with the hope of finding the peace she is seeking, the strength she once had, and the love she deserves. |
