She is the kind of person everyone envies. She has beauty on the outside as well as within, and everyone she touches can see it. She has an unspoken grace about her, something I even admire, amidst my jealousy. Yet, despite her seemingly flawless exterior and life, I know there is more to her shell of existence. Secrets in her shadows. Maybe even a darkness she hasn't yet recognized herself. But I know it's there. I catch a glimpse of it in her eyes when stares in silence, but only a fractioned flicker and then it's gone again. The smile reappears, flashing that perfection we have all come to accept. So I keep her secret, as well, and play along. Pretending things are as they seem and nothing more.
