| This picture debunks any theory that people had a large family for labor purposes. This is what happens to seven year olds when put to work in the fields for three hours. What you dont know is that they are all telling me they want water, their potatoes are heavy, and they are hot. These are my kids though, Giraffe Ban, minus the boy in the blue knee highs, he just lost his sweet potato down the hole. This is my homeroom set of kids. They normally aren't so unhappy looking as you can see in the following pictures. |

Hello welcome to Birthday Day at Lego Dacto Wishing Well English School. This is that Jen of all Jen's classroom. Now stop your western notions of birthdays. They are crazy important in Korea. There is an all school party, no classes all day, and more food then I thought was possible to consume. These photos are taken during in the downtime after lunch and not all by me. As you can tell I am in the background of this one telling the kids how to use the camera. Jack here is showing how wicked cool he is. |

This is Jack and Sunjae. Jack and Sean have a rocky friendship. Here they are happy and posing pretty. About ten minutes ago there was a brawl over who got to play with the Lego spacecraft I built. Ohh yes there are mad amounts of Legos running about the school I have lots of fun. This ended with them both being sent to the corners and another boy getting the toy to his happy dancing delight. |

This is Minju. She is at school all day. She goes to an additional set of english classes at the school after the all day kindergarten. There is about an hour of downtime between them and she likes to teach me how to add. I attribute my counting super awesomeness to her. Now as people get curious about the oddities in these pictures. On the table in front of her is from her right to left. Her lunch utensils (a spoon and set of chop sitcks) she just got a new set today and is way excited to use them. Her lunch box, so the school has a cook who makes lunch but the kids have these little boxes which they take home for their moms to wash (the boxes have five compartments 2 large for soup and rice and three small for the additional dishes). Last is her lunch bag which the lunchbox and utensils get carted to and from school in. |

This is John and Sunjae. John is showing off his 'gun' It is actually a magnet thats north and south detach which he attached together to make a gun. and Sunjae is showing that he to can throw down. You gotta watch john he's a wiley kid. He's a fan of the hit and run method of fighting cause he's fast. He is also the smallest in the class and likes to ride the other children like horses. It's actually funny to watch. |

This is Tae-an. Like Minju she goes to the after school classes. Her main goal in life is to color and draw and she is good at it. I never expected to see a seven year old use blending and shading in their art but she does. She is laughing hysterically in this photo because she just sang a song in korean to me. She likes to talk to with me in English and then in Korean. Also a fan of helping me with my korean she likes to write words and have me read them to her. She is a fan of testing her teachers in general. Whenever I am talking to another teacher she likes to quiz them on their English on some random words. Most recently was name the birds. She likes to see if I agree with the Korean teacher. |

These are my kids. I am responsible for them at all school functions and they behave admirably in most cases. The only boy I don't have a class picture of is Chewan who was too busy taking a lot of these pictures or trying to get the camera back from me. He is the boy giving the peace sign in the first picture though. All in all a good bunch of kids. As always I am your friendly e-mail slave.
