These pictures are from everland. Everland is a Korean Amuzement park. It had a couple of coasters nothing spectacular compared to the US ones. However the truely supuerb aspect of the park is that they have lots of carnival rides, which keeping with true carnival theory have somewhat lax ride safety. Nothing is more fun then riding a "crazy limo" (a ride a kin to a ship ride that does a full inversion except it does not swing you up to the top it just mechanically drags you up there so the first time you flip you are suspended for awhile up top") and having there be no shoulder harness so you can slip up and hit the top of the "car" scared the hell out of the girl I was riding with. So I went with one of my coworkers and some of her friends, there was only one other person who would ride the rides with me. That would be Che An, the girl to the left holding a chick I caught. She's about 12 and we had fun exchanging english and korean phrases. |

In case you didn't know this about me, shit like this picture embody all i think is evil in this world. Had this been a night time parade there is a decent chance I would have been cowering under a coat as opposed to sitting calmly on the sidewalk learning the words to the Everland Parade song. Further creepy note on the parade it is a walking choreographed dance routine, with dancers in costume between each floats, dancing to music that is piped along the whole route. Then the parade stops and they have a dance party in the streets inviting all the kids to join in. Nothing says fun like dancing in the street. |

Westerners, take on a sort of fun attraction at a zoo aspect in korea. As a matter of fact for all the shows and parades they import a bunch of Former soviet union folk and have them perform. As you can tell from the happy face of this young man, they are like most zoo animals. Pretty apathetic about the hourly show they must put on and wondering why they make him dress up like this and if they know that in his natural habitat he doesn't rollerblade in a fish costume. |
