TRINITY
| Trinity is the twenty-third novel in the proposed D Is For Damien series, and takes place in July 2001--exactly twelve years after Lucifer. To this day it remains unwritten, though a basic plot has been drawn up (which may be changed drastically at a future time). Like the majority of the D Is For Damien novels, I have no plans to work on it in the near future.
Basic synopsis: Damien faces the growing threat of the Black Eagle cult, while reevaluating his experience with Scorpio, and dealing with a bunch of new arrivals, each of whom reminds him of someone else he once knew. Add to this a bizarre meteor shower, a pregnant high priestess, hints of reincarnation, and growing signs of Damien's and Lily's powers--and confusion abounds. Lucifer himself, on witnessing his son's abilities, begins to ponder his allegiance to Scorpio. And not only all of that...but another member of Damien's family arrives...and gets off to a good start by impersonating him perfectly. Nothing seems safe or reliable anymore, just when safety is needed the most. Interesting story tidbits: The truth about the magical D's from D Is For Damien is finally revealed, as well as Damien's powers; Sgt. Johansen, Elise Danbrook, Shrine Knight, Dr. Elizabeth Ross, Lt. Mabarak, the Gypsies, and several other characters I can't recall make their reappearances; Palladia, Auguste Jourard, Carl Van Dusen, Justina Danser, Katie Castagne, Nikola Lupescu, Det. James Mulroy I, former Sheriff Jon Grabowski, and several others first appear; the tale of the possible intergenerational reincarnation of the main characters since ancient times is described; Scorpio begins to fade into the background as the Black Eagle becomes more vicious; the cult acquires its first high priestess, leading to more dissent; the Brotherhood of Cosmas & Damian is revealed; Damien's and Lily's powers grow stronger; Lucifer begins to question his loyalty to the cult; and I'm certain there's much more I've forgotten.
