| Well--the NAZIS, of course. Who else did you expect? ;)
I probably should explain a little, considering as how you're new here and all... The commander of the forces we're currently fighting is General Schavich. Don't ask me what kind of name that is; he's German, even if it doesn't sound like it. And he's bad to the core. He's been VERY angry with Black Rat since our sergeant led to him losing one of his eyes. So of course, he'll do just about anything to see us exterminated. COMPLETELY. Trust me. There is no reasoning with that guy. Schavich's second is known only as Lt. Ratdog. He's new, and we don't know anything else about his background, except that he's VERY skilled in combat. We're still sending out operatives to try and get some info on this guy! However, he seems to have a different code of ethics from Schavich, despite the two of them being "bad guys." Ratdog, from what little we've observed so far, seems to value human life and dignity and the rules of "polite combat," if there is such a thing; dirty fighting has no place in his book. I doubt you could find a more civil fighter on the enemy's side than him. LC Teal Rat was one of our own number. He's the only one of us who's ever defected to the Nazi side. We greatly regret this; however, he's been unable to provide the enemy with information regarding our HQ's whereabouts! How this happened, we have no idea; perhaps he lost some of his memory in the bombing? In any case, although he can help the Nazis on almost any other matter, he can't help them with what they desire to know the most: where we are! I have to chuckle at the justice of this one. ;) Dr. "C" is a doctor working for the Nazis. He's the lowest kind of scum you could ever hope to find. I believe he's also one of the initiators of the "Doomsday Project." (More on that at a later time.) Although at the time of this writing he hasn't "technically" been introduced to our company, I'm sure he's currently at work performing one of his perverse experiments. Worst of luck to him. I hope his beakers explode. Private Konrad Helmstadt has worked in close quarters with Gerhardt, so the sergeant's been able to tell us a little bit about him. So far, Helmstadt seems to be little of a threat, quite passive and easy to command; according to Gerhardt, he doesn't seem to like Germany's current stance very much himself. Who knows, sometime in the future he may end up helping us out somehow. Anything is possible. And last but not least...there's the single one we fear the most...Inspector Louis Dobermann. I shudder just saying his name! Although he isn't one of the Nazis, he's a great sympathizer, and very wealthy; supposedly he comes from a family of barons who have been stripped of their title. He has much power and control over some of the Nazi and enemy forces, and Helmstadt and Gerhardt answer to him. (Luckily, Gerhardt is on our side!) He lives on an immense estate, in a large manor, with many servants and soldiers at his disposal; and he has a VERY SHORT FUSE. None of us have ever seen him lose his temper--he's ALWAYS calm and cool--but he'll shoot somebody without a second thought if that person crosses him. He's done it before, I bet he'll do it again! You don't mess with somebody like that! However...he also has a daughter. Adelina Dobermann, "Addy" as Gerhardt has taken to calling her. Her mother--Dobermann's wife--was killed in a car bombing when Addy was young. So now she lives in the manor with her father. I'm not sure what to think of Gerhardt's opinion of her; he seems to think she may have her reservations about her father's position, and may take our side, but of course we Rats have our doubts. After all, she's a Dobermann. Who's to say if we can trust her or not? Until she proves herself in action, that is. Oh, there are a whole lot more "bad guys"; we ARE fighting the entire Nazi forces! But so far we've refrained from being on a first-name basis with most of them, and we prefer to keep it that way, if you don't mind! ;) (Oh, yes, and please excuse me for the comment about "human life and dignity" above--I know we are rats, but would "rodent life and dignity" have sounded so worthy of respect? Sadly enough, I doubt it... <:) ) END |
