THE TRENCH RATS
| Welcome to my "Trench Rats" fiction (what there is or may be of it), I hope you enjoy it. This is actually a project I started a long, long, LONG time ago. I believe I shared it with all of one person, a close friend, because I simply thought the idea was too weird to share with others. Why? Because we're talking about rats fighting Nazi dogs in some really weird World War II.
Yep, that's weird, isn't it? I realized just how strange a lot of my writing was when I showed a drawing of one of my characters to a relative. It was a dog character, yet he acted like a human, and he was a criminal, I told her. To which she gave the picture a blank look and said, "The dog's a criminal?" Yes...animals acting like people...the only time that worked was in Disney cartoons, and even then, it's always rated G. You never come across stories about anthropomorphic animals involved in violent or adult acts... Well...online you do! Recently I discovered the genre of "furry fiction"--and I was surprised. Most of it seems to involve fantasy-type animals who are actually part human, part animal, or some other, but some of it does focus on mere animals who act as humans. I couldn't believe there are whole websites devoted to this stuff! Some of the ideas other people get are incredibly strange--maybe a few would put my own weird ideas to shame. MAYBE. That's what I came here to find out. I decided to finally try to share some of my pretty weird Trench Rats reality with others, to see what they think. Am I crazy for even coming up with this stuff? Or am I normal? I don't know yet; I'm still hesitant to share it, but I thought I'd try. Still reading?? Big Important Disclaimers And Stuff! All characters and creations in this fiction are mine. Period. No one else may use them without my permission. (I've always wanted others to use my characters in their own fanfiction, but nobody knows them well enough except me, and nobody's interested!! ^_^ ) Likewise, the writing and ideas, including the Trench Rat Manifesto, are also my own. If you claim them, you will be in trouble. This stream of fiction, at this time, is rated PG-13 for violence (no excessive stuff with guts streaming all over, but it should still get bloody), language (yes, again, not "F--- this! F--- that! F--- you!!" but there is adult language), and possible adult situations. (*gasp!*) The fiction is not written yet but I do have some ideas in my mind and some are not pleasant...I like to put my characters through a lot of pain. >:) There is also a slash (gay content) warning in effect; there shouldn't be anything hardcore, and in fact most everything will likely remain tame (I'm too easily embarrassed for that!), but the signs will be there should I ever get to that part and I want readers to be warned. If male/male relationships turn you off, then please do not read this story. (You probably shouldn't read some of my Minot short story spinoffs or "Policy Of Truth," then, either.) Keep in mind please that this is mostly unwritten and unplotted so I'm working without a net. Parts will come along as I'm able to post them. The story itself may not even follow a traditional plot; it may meander a bit, as I intend on labeling each part with the point of view of the main character. (Hence part one being called "Mirela.") If more than one character shares the point of view, I'll name it for both of them, or for the one who plays the more important part. I can't promise this story will go anywhere...like I said, I'm sharing it only to get a feel if I'm crazy for thinking this up or not. I'm not saying I'll stop posting it if no one is interested. But if anyone is interested, that will increase my chances of continuing the story. After all, I need someone's reassurance that I'm not nuts! If I ever take too long getting a part up, why not drop me a line. I can't promise the story will ever go anywhere, or even take off at all! But please please PLEASE check it out, let me know what you think, and if you like it, ADD ME TO YOUR FAVORITES! It's the only way to know when I might add something new that you don't want to miss!
