| Here they all are at last! :D The King Kuts series is how I got started writing. (For more information on how, see the first story.) This was intended to be an open-ended series and I do know that at the time of the writing of the final installment, Part Six, a Part Seven was planned; I may have begun this (I remember writing something with two Hawaiian kids named Palani Kalakaua and Aolani Lunalilo (sic???)), but it never took off. Part Six, itself, was never completed. The series spanned from 1987 to around 1990 or so, guessing from the then-current songs referred to in the final parts.
Every KK story, except the mysterious missing Part Seven (if it existed at all), was written in standard composition books. These little hardcovers became my preferred method of writing the stories, as they made the books seem "real" to me. I even illustrated them and with the second, third, and sixth parts, added illustrated covers. Later on in the writing I began to call the stories "movies" and pretended that...ah...they had been filmed. ;) I was an...er...imaginative kid, to say the least. A friend of mine, Mya S. (who I believe appears in Part Three), was my partner in crime and helped me much with my story mythology. Shout out to ya Mya! Anyway, with as INCREDIBLY BEYOND DORKY as they are today, I'm still grateful for these stories in a way, as they really did start me writing everything I do now, including the bulk of what's in my Fiction folder. You'll recognize more and more characters from my regular stories as you go through these (if you do!!). I cringe on looking back on these stories, as these guys are all SO out of character now (in particular the Egyptian gods), and the plots/events are SO tacky and lame. Parts Four and Five especially are HORRID with their references to then-modern pop culture (Tone Loc and Paula Abdul, anyone? :P ), and I would really rather I hadn't written some of these, but I'm posting them anyway. Because they were that important to what I write today. At the moment, I'm on the verge (just tempt me!!) of starting an all NEW KK story, making use of my goony OOC techniques, only using more caution to keep the stupidity factor down. (No references to pop culture, for example, unless I'm making fun of it!) I'm thinking of a comedy using the most common recurring characters from the series--Purrsha falling in love with Thutmose sounds like a grand idea. ;) Should such a story get started, I'll link back to here, its fundamental roots. ONE last note, you'll see, if you read carefully, that almost ALL of my characters depicted herein are animals--notably dogs and cats. This includes characters I still write about today in my regular fiction. Yes--they all started out as furry (anthropomorphic), and I still do see most of them this way. This isn't to say that the Damien in my D Is For Damien series will be wagging his tail; for all intents and purposes, THAT Damien is human, while the Damien and Lucifer, etc. that may appear in these stories are not. The rest of the series makes little sense, so why should that? Just try to see D4D as the serious side of my writing, and KK as the goofy side, and you'll be fine. :) Now without further ado, I present the five complete and one incomplete stories of the King Kuts series! |
|
KING KUTS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS! The incredibly stupid story that first got me writing. :) KING KUTS 2: LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE! It's dogs versus cat in an attempt to stop an evil plot from hatching! KING KUTS 3: WE WISH YOU A MERRY PURSHAMAS The evil Purrsha is out to ruin Christmas--but not if Pedro can help it! KING KUTS 4 Purrsha has returned with another evil plot! Cue the gang! KING KUTS 5 What dastardly deeds does the wicked Purrsha have planned for Egypt THIS time?... KING KUTS 6 The unfinished final book in the series. |
