KASUMI: Its just everyone else is miserable in this land, including my uncle.
Jack looked at Kasumi in the eyes.
SAMURAI JACK: I know everyone else is unhappy here, even I and do not like it.
KASUMI: You too?
SAMURAI JACK: Yes. So this person that you were spying on back there, was your uncle?
KASUMI: Yes, it is true.
SAMURAI JACK: I have a reason to believe that you have run away from home.
KASUMI: Yes.
SAMURAI JACK: Why? Why have you run away from home?
Kasumi walked toward the dresser with a sad face.
KASUMI: The reason why I have run away is because I want some fun in my life. Im getting very tired of being coop up in here with my uncle. Ive been running away for 9 weeks.
SAMURAI JACK: (shocked) You have run away for 9 weeks?
Kasumi shaked her head to signal yes as she held the picture frame. Jack then approached Kasumi with an enigmatic expression.
SAMURAI JACK: Let me see the picture Kasumi.
Kasumi extended the picture for Jack to see it was a picture for Jack to see. It was a picture of her mother and father.
SAMURAI JACK: (stared at the picture) Are these your mother and father?
KASUMI: Yes Jack.
Jack gave the picture to Kasumi.
SAMURAI JACK: That reminds me of something where is your mother and father?
She gazed at him in despair; and lowers her head as he placed the picture back on the dresser.
KASUMI: (turned to Jack) They are not with us anymore.
Her temper flared.
KASUMI: But this wouldnt had happened if. If. If that thing wouldnt had done that to them.
SAMURAI JACK: Thing, what thing?
KASUMI: Oh! Never mine.
Kasumi sat on her bed. Jack sat next to her.
SAMURAI JACK: You can tell me anything. What became of your mother and father and how you and your uncle Moto moved here to this forest?
KASUMI: (raised her head) You really want to know.
Jack shaked his head to signal yes.
KASUMI: Ill tell you. (Taking a deep breath) A wicked wizard killed my mother and father.
SAMURAI JACK: (stranged) A wicked wizard?
KASUMI: Yes that is correct. A giant-wicked wizard. I was born in Japan My real home and so did my uncle. Japan was rule by a beloved powerful Emperor; back in those days.
She smiled, but Jack could see the sadness in her eyes. A deep sense of pain was around her.
KASUMI: We all loved The Emperor because he was wise and kind with his people. The Empress was also kind and fair.
Kasumi expression changed to sadness.
KASUMI: One horrible day it happened, everything became red- the entire city- a giant monster appeared. The Emperors army fought valiantly against the demon with strong weapons. But it was useless, the arrows and spears got stuck in the monsters body reflected the weapons back to the soldiers and two arrows stroke the back of my mother and father. My uncle was petrified with fear. And I stood there feeling helpless and crying. My uncle grabbed me and took me to a boat in the river. We got on the boat and my uncle stroke with all his might. We never returned to our beloved homeland. That is why we ended living in this forest.
Jack felt sadness and closed his eyes.
KASUMI: Ill never forget about that wicked wizard. I do not know his name. But all I remember was. He was black as the scary night; he had six horns on his head; flaming eyebrows, a long red beard, scary teeth and that hideous laughter that goes. (She laughed like Aku) Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! (She coughed and clears her throat) He destroyed our home and started to take over our world.
SAMURAI JACK: (sadly) Oh Kasumi I cannot believe Aku had killed your mother and father.
KASUMI: (gasps) Thats the wicked wizards name, Aku. How do you know his name Jack?
SAMURAI JACK: My father told me.
KASUMI: Oh. Well I always forget his name. I will try to remember Aku next time. But Jack? Why they called him "Aku?"
SAMURAI JACK: Because hes evil, Kasumi.
KASUMI: Oh, I see. Jack?
SAMURAI JACK: Hmm.
KASUMI: Why are you here?
SAMURAI JACK: Im here because (Sighs) When you said "Moto" and your uncle said "Kas;" back at the record shop. And why you did not tell me your real name was Kas?
KASUMI: That was my childhood name, when I was a little girl. But sometime my uncle always calls me Kas or Kasumi. You have come all this way just to know names?
SAMURAI JACK: Well, there is more.
KASUMI: What do you mean?
SAMURAI JACK: I should have told you this earlier, when we met.
KASUMI: Told me what?
SAMURAI JACK: My dream.
KASUMI: Huh?
SAMURAI JACK: You see, since the day I been fighting with the assassins that Xtor has created it. For three days, Ive been having this dream. Id dreamt I return to the past; and I finally destroyed Aku.
Kasumi double blinked at Jack.
SAMURAI JACK: But then, a voice was calling my name. It was coming from the dungeon. And in the dungeon was a woman. She was shangle and handcuff to the back of the wall. I was about to free her, but (Sadly lower his head) I woke up.
Kasumi got a little sad on Jack.
SAMURAI JACK: But. (Raising his head) I have a feeling I knew this woman.
KASUMI: You know Jack? That is my dream also.
SAMURAI JACK: your dream?
KASUMI: Hmmm-mmm. Ever since I have been going to the city a lot. Every night Ive been having this strange dream. Id dreamt I was a prisoner in wicked wizards castle or should I say "Akus." He locked me in his dungeon. But then, one miracle thing happened in my dream.
There was a ripple. (Like a ripple effect fading into a scene at a movie screen)
In Kasumis dream, a mysterious Samurai had his sword on Akus body; and had defeated Aku.
KASUMI: There was this brave, Samurai warrior, who has destroyed the evil Aku.
The Samurai shield his sword and faced in front of us. Hed reminded of Jack.
KASUMI: I do not know who he is.
Another ripple and she was back to reality.
KASUMI: What strange is even though it was a dream. I had a feeling I knew this Samurai. Pretty strange huh?
SAMURAI JACK: oh.
KASUMI: (smiled and giggled) Anyways, he looked exactly like you Jack.
SAMURAI JACK: Like me?
KASUMI: Mmm- hmm. With that ponytail on his head, the eyes, the sword and everything. (Sighs) So Jack, is the girl in your dream who looks like me?
SAMURAI JACK: Yes, she dose reminded me of you Kasumi. But this is kind a strange. We both had the same dream.
KASUMI: I know, it is like in the twilight zone.
SAMURAI JACK: Its like we knew each other.
KASUMI: I feel the same way too; but thats impossible we didnt meet before.
Jack ponders the dilemma.
SAMURAI JACK: I just cannot believe that we both had the same dream.
He looked at her intently, and stroke his chin is a pondering manner.
SAMURAI JACK: Now Kasumi please think, there got to be something else you remember from your past.
KASUMI: Well before Aku took over the world There was. Oh no, no do not tell me, you want to hear about this either.
SAMURAI JACK: Oh come on; tell me Kasumi, I must know.
KASUMI: You really want to know Jack.
Jack nodded yes.
KASUMI: (taking a big breath) All right Ill tell you. It is a friend of mine. But he was not like my other friends. He was Special.
SAMURAI JACK: How special?
KASUMI: He was the (Sighed) Son of The Emperor.
Jack was shock that Kasumi said that.
But Kasumi doesnt know that Jack was her old friend from the past.
