Poison damage works differently to all the other damages, not doing all its damage at once, but doing more damage over a period of time. You are poisoned for a period of time if you are hit by poison damage, and it drains your health.
However it will never actually kill you, just make your health 1. So anything could just finish you off. It generally does a LOT more damage then any other attack, however does it slowly so in some cases is not as good. However by the time you get to hell difficulty, you will find poison damage exceedingly useful. |
