Craig Engels On His New Coach And Team

Mullet Clad Warror, Craig Engels

It's no shock that Craig Engles is one of the most popular runners in popular culture but his past year of performances have left a lot to be desired. Finishing one spot from qualifying for the olympics (losing to two collegians) he's looking for a new spark in his running carrer, hopefully before his prime comes to an end. We caught up Craig and got his thoughts on his new coach and team.

How are the new digs with Pete Julian as your full time coach?

"I love Pete. He's a great guy and a smart coach. He has the experience I think a lot of coaches lack and he wears his heart on his sleeve. If you're not giving it 100% he's going to let you know. We're implementing new training strategies kind of new to the scene so we're hoping the big risks pay off."

How's the new squad treating you?

"Holy moly these guys know how to throw down. I've usually been surrounded by guys just like me, but guy's like Donovan (Braizer) have totally different straegies and mentalities, I think that kind of diversity goes a long way."
