Plan ahead so you can focus on the fun with these tips:

How much sunscreen can I carry on a plane?

Travelers still need to ensure liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on bags meet the 3-1-1 requirements and are no larger than 3.4 ounces,” according to the TSA. “TSA advises passengers who need larger quantities of sunscreen, or other liquids, gels and aerosols, to add them to checked baggage for use at their destination.”
If you’re already stocked up on your favorite brand, you can always decant it into Matador FlatPak toiletry bottles.
It is worth noting that TSA is still allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container “up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice,” as part of the rules it changed due to COVID-19.

Create a packing list

Here's a sample list to get you thinking about all the little things you may need which we take for granted when we're at home:

  1. Your passport if traveling abroad, and driver's license.
  2. Prescription meds and vitamins.
  3. Chargers and cords for your phone and any other electronics.
  4. A list of restaurants to try or things to do (do a little research beforehand or ask your travel agent for ideas!)
  5. For the warm weather, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat or visor.
  6. If you want to use the local currency in another country, bring your ATM card. In Mexico, for example, you'll get a much better exchange rate by getting pesos from an ATM at a local bank.

Use a VPN to keep you computer hack-free

It's not always safe to log in to public WiFi. You can get plans for a VPN (virtual private network) from companies like Ivacy. They offer plans from 1 month to 5 years. A VPN may also come in handy if you want to use your streaming services such as YouTube TV or Netflix with subtitles in your own language, and not the language of the country you're visiting.

Download some useful travel apps before you go

We were happy to discover how many countries have Uber available, and typically the prices are less than in the USA. We had about a 45-minute ride in Panama (there for one day during a cruise) and it only cost about $3.00 USD! Yes, we left a good tip! So download the Uber app.
Other ideas: XE for converting currency, Wise for transferring money (absolute best rates), and maybe Snapchat and/or Instagram so you can share pictures from your journey with friends and family.
