Tira's Extended Family Tree
This page has been made to inform you as to just how great our Tira's heritage is.
She has many, many SH, MH, FC, AFC, and NFC as well as ENG CH.  Her line is directly descended from one of the 8 routes to the origin of the chocolate Lab (even though *after generations of breeding* she is a black Lab carrying the chocolate gene).

One of the reasons that you'll find no chocolate Labs in older files, is that they weren't in fashion for many decades, so they just weren't registered. However, the blacks and the yellows carrying the choc. gene kept reproducing. That's why we're able to trace them back to the late 1800s.

Route 8: Hiwood Mike (m, black, 1935), via Pettistree Dan (m, black, 1934) - Quest of Wilbury (f, black, 1930) - Muntham Raven (f, black, 1924) - Banchory Corbie (m, black, 1921) - Banchory Bolo (m, black, 1915) - Scandal of Glynn (m, black, < 1913) - Shelag of Glynn (f, black, < 1911) - Shelag (f, colour unknown, < 1909) - Munden Sentry (m, black, 1900) - Munden Sixty (m, black, 1897) - Buccleuch Nith (m, black, 1891) - Buccleuch Avon (m, black, 1885) - Malmesbury Tramp (m, black, 1878),
AND via Pettistree Poppet (f, colour unknown, < 1933) - Cransford Flapper (f, colour unknown, < 1931) - Peter of Bircham (m, colour unknown, < 1930) - Banchory Danilo (m, black, 1923) - Banchory Bolo (m, black, 1915) - Scandal of Glynn (m, black, < 1913) - Shelag of Glynn (f, black, < 1911) - Shelag (f, colour unknown, < 1909) - Munden Sentry (m, black, 1900) - Munden Sixty (m, black, 1897) - Buccleuch Nith (m, black, 1891) - Buccleuch Avon (m, black, 1885) - Malmesbury Tramp (m, black, 1878).

The first and second Earls of Malmesbury, who bred for duck shooting on his estate, and the 5th and 6th Dukes of Buccleuch, and youngest son Lord George William Montagu-Douglas-Scott, were instrumental in establishing the Labrador breed in nineteenth century England. The dogs Avon ("Buccleuch Avon") and Ned given by Malmesbury ("Malmesbury Tramp") to assist the Duke of Buccleuch's breeding program in the 1880s are usually considered the ancestors of all modern Labradors.

Here is her extended pedigree after FC AFC Hammerin' Hawk > dam was FC AFC Itchin' Gretchin > mated with NFC FC AFC San Joaquin Honcho (1973)> son of FC AFC Trumarc's Raider (1970) > son of NFC AFC Whygin Cork's Coot (1962) > daughter of Coastal Charger of Deer Creek (1948) > son of Dual CH. Little Pierre of Deer Creek (1943) > son of FT CH. Hiwood Mike (1935)> son of Dual CH. Banchory Painter (1930) > son of Peter the Painter (1928) > son of ENG. FT CH. Ledsham Peter (1921) > son of St. Mary's Donson > son of CH. Ilderton Ben (1913)

As you can see, Tira has many famous names and her pedigree does go all the way back to Malmesbury Tramp - one of the founders of the chocolate Lab.

I'm sure you can appreciate the extreme joy we feel at having such a great lineage behind our little girl.  Her pups will know no bounds given the proper training.  She comes from a great line of champions and hunters and has (and will) produce fine pups.

Should we decide not to breed with her in the future we will keep one of her pups in order to ensure this fine line lives on in her progeny.
