Introduction to Handhelds (Palm and PocketPC)

If you really need to find out more about Palm/IBM WorkPad, check the SPUG(Singapore Palm User Group) website at http://www.spug.net/
Click on the 'Features' section to find info which will help to determine your purchase.
An introduction article on "What is the PalmPilot?" is available there at http://www.spug.net/features/newbie2.htm

For handling email attachment like powerpoints, excel, word, there are really some softwares like Multimail PRO which provide limited viewing of attachments, but don't expect you can ever do everything as in desktop PC -- Palm was meant to be a 'desktop companion' rather than 'desktop replacement'. If you are curious how good a companion it can be, check the ZDNet column at http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/pilotsoftware/prespick/0400/

For more information on the capability of each Palm device, check a buyers' guide at Palmpower March issue http://palmpower.com/issues/issue200003/palmiiixe001.html

If you need vibrant color, all the bells and whistles, and the look and feel of MS Windows, you like to take a look at Windows CE devices from HP and CASIO.

FYI, with a current market share over 70%, there are definitely more 'diehard' Palm users than Windows CE and Psion combined.

An authoritative guide is also available from CNET at http://computers.cnet.com/hardware/0-1087.html?tag=st.cn.7045-ron.bc.gp
and Amazon
and a gallery of PalmOS devices.
