FUN-land & the noise : June 24, 2006
I just got back from FINLAND - for work, obviously. We had a meeting in a place outside the city. Quite beautiful, as you can see... but since it does not get hot for that long in Finland... NO AIR CONDITIONING.
It reminded me of the Blackout here in NYC a few years ago. Tossing and turning in bed, struggling to rest amidst the sweltering heat.
Interesting thing about the Blackout and about traveling to places off the beaten path. It gives us a bit of rest from the constant bombardment of ads, people, noise. I guess being from NYC I appreciate it more -- but also can only handle it in doses.
That having been said - I'm so happy to be home in my tiny Manhattan apt today, despite the rain and humidity.
