our godfather remembered : December 29, 2006
today the famous Apollo theatre was the site of James Brown's wake. the line to get in to see the Godfather of Soul one last time went down 125th street to Malcolm X Blvd and around the block. what a dymanic performer he was - in life and even in death. i had the pleasure of seeing him perform live a few years ago - still struttin' - beltin' out the grunts - and makin' music we all love. REST IN PEACE, James Brown. you will be missed.
