the efficiency of the gov't??? : November 20, 2006
so on my last jaunt to finland - upon returning to the lovely 'US - and A' (go see Borat , if you haven't - it's hysterical!)... anyhow, as i was saying - coming back thru jfk - the customs guys told me that i was out of places to stamp in my passport. trouble. i need to fly out again in a just a few days -- so panic ensued. called my travel dept, a friend and the office -- but got the best answer from american airlines exec platinum deck (membership has its privledges, i guess). there is passport office right here in ny.
so - 2 choices - get the addded pages i need to continue jaunting -- or renew the whole document. note: i have to fly on sunday - and turkey day in thursday. so i opted for the quick and guaranteed... but then i walk into the passport office - and they tell me that i can have a renewal the SAME DAY! crazy , i know!!!! so i ran and got photos taken - and had travel dept fax over my itinerary.. and 4 hours later - new passport! whod'a thunk it - a gov't office -- the model of efficiency.
