Djing in Finland (day 10) : September 14, 2006
so last night, i had my Finland dj debut, at a club called Stockholm. it was fun to play in a different place for different people. funny enough, it was comparable to "teen night" in the club - since 1) the drinking age here is 18 - 2) the kids are celebrating '100 days', something like 100 days left of school.. or something. anyhow, the crowd was young. the most fun part of the gig was that i spun with 2 other djs. we took turns - each playing about 4 songs. so you had to be on your toes to make sure the flow was good for the folks dancing. one of the two guys was a fairly new dj - and was happy to play the 'crap' songs while myself and Karolus were able to play interesting tracks. Karolus likes funky house - so that was totally cool with me. I played mostly hiphop and soul. i mixed aretha's 'respect' into some house track - and played jay-z -> 'opp' -> jackson 5's 'i want you back' -> viners' 'apache'. fun night overall.
