fact: i don't like chinese food. certainly not the authentic stuff - too slimy -- and not the fake americanized chinese food either. BUT, there is one place i go in NYC and order one specific dish. THE PLACE : 1st WOK THE DISH : chicken with orange flavor, with green beens. YUM! 1st Wok has gotten acclaim for being great simple chinese food - and they do bang-up business everyday. if you are ever here, GO! My best friend, Rafique's step-dad was once spending 3 months in NYC - and rented an apartment in the east 70s just to be close to 1st WOK. POWERFUL! Raffy and I frequent the place when he is here -- My dad & I go everytime he is in the city. adn to top it all off they give you a free coke with your order. waiter will say : "what you want drink? -- nothing?!? coke is free -- free coke!!! i bring you coke." IT GETS NO BETTER THAN 1st WOK.
