last weekend i went to the north sea jazz festival with my dad. 2 days of jazz - with some r&b mixed in. we had a wonderful time this year, our 3rd year going. it is technically a 3 days festival but we decided to skip day 1 after looking at the artists. in the 2 days we saw branford marsalis, roy haynes, bilal, erykah badu, leela james, kanye west & tracy chapman - - - and discovered some new artists: the robert glasper trio, raul midon, and a few others.
for music lovers, a terrific coupla days. it was especially nice to spend a few days with my dad. i hope with my new position, and being back and forth to finland, that i can see him more often over the next year.
