My Biking Life
I had ridden years ago as a "I've always wanted to" but never with any real zeal.  More a transportation method and a lark.  Two different bikes in two different locations.  So after I got rid of my last Bike in 1991 (for a reason that I can not recall) I decided (for famly peace) that I would not try for another.  That an the fact I was in Maryland and could NOT stand the cold.

So fast forward (or actually rewind I guess) to March of this year.  My brother-in-law came for a visit and to attend the Daytona Bike Week.  Well, while he rides, he and his wife did not ride down.  So he went out and rented - a Harley.  I drool over Harley's and here is one in my garage! So for the next several mornings all I heard was that Harley starting up as he left for Bike Week.  I had been bitten.  Within a month I was at the Honda dealer (I know - its not a Harley but its what I can afford at the moment) and had purchased a Shadow 750.

I spent the next couple weeks falling in love all over again with riding and for some reaon - this time I was bitten HARD by the biking bug.  I rode that bike everywhere.  To work, to play.  It was hard to get me off that bike.  I joined the Southern Cruisers local chapter and went on bike trips with the group.  My wife actually went on one and we rode 2 up.  Based on that event I decided I really needed a more powerful bike.  2 up on the 750 was simply not cutting it.

So I found myself 3 months and just under 4,000 miles later trading up to a Honda Shadow Sprit 1100.  I continue to ride to work daily no matter the weather.  I ride with the SCRC as often as possible and have even completed my first bike trip.  I rode up to Washington DC and back for work.

So I continue to ride and look forward to all of my riding trips with anticipation.
