The feminist movement--feminazi in popular parlance--had been relegated to the background of mainstream politics in recent years. Yeah, imbeciles like Hillary Clinton are still up in the air as to whether to accept their husbands' names. Then again, if you were married to Bill, wouldn't you want to keep at least some distance (like Washington, D.C. to Harlem)? But these morons were not highly regarded. In a stunning move, Steinem Inc. has taken a bold step towards bringing feminism back to the top. As usual, they're using abortion as the keystone issue of their new campaign.
Now, I want you guys out there to watch out for this. Maybe we can get together an off-the-cuff barbecue and book-burning. Ms. Magazine, founded by feminist demi-god(dess) Gloria Steinem, and published by the Feminist Majority Foundation, is going to be publishing a list of signatures from a petition entitled, "We Had Abortions." The apparent goal of the petition is to establish that the 5,000+ signatories are not embarrassed about the fact that they decapitated their babies, or had their brains sucked out through a vacuum hose. On the other hand, there are plenty of death-row inmates who aren't embarrassed in the least about their crimes either. Figure that shit out.
In the beginning, Steinem created modern Feminism. Way back when, feminists were supposed to have been concerned with obtaining equal rights for women. At the turn of the last century suffragettes marched through all the major arteries of all the major cities in the good ol' US of A. Finally they got the right to vote. A generation or two later, scantily clad, bra-burning hippies did the same--the marching, I mean. They wanted to liberate themselves. From what? The moral constraints of western society. They wanted to be completely free from everything, especially responsibility for their actions.
When the abortion issue became an issue, most women were embarrassed to admit that they might have had one. They sensed deep down that despite mitigating circumstances, there was something innately wrong with the "procedure." The freedom to commit abortion was guaranteed in 1973 by the United States Supreme Court. Now, the feminists need to go one step further. They need to not only have abortion's legal status placed out of the reach of legislators, but to have its moral rectitude made equally unassailable. Thus, they create a petition. Thousands of women sign on, led into the fray by St. Steinem of Toledo.
Steinem, a proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America, our own branch of the Socialist International, doesn't believe in morality. So, by getting women to give up feeling bad about their abortions, she succeeds in making it commonplace, and thus "OK." None of this is any surprise to me. What surprises me is that this surprises others. When are people going to wake up and realize that the sole reason America has been able to accomplish everything that it's accomplished is its ability to maintain the moral high ground? From separating from an oppressive government, to fighting Nazis, Commies and Bomb-laden Camel Jockeys, we've always been morally in the right. When are people going to wake up and realize that we are slowly but surely giving up our morality to people like Steinem (who associates with people with names like Wilma Mankiller--I don't make this shit up, folks; I just write it down)? When are people going to wake up and realize that once it's gone, we can't get it back? Liberals talk about a quagmire in Iraq. I'm talking about a quagmire at home. I'm not sure anymore that we can avoid it.
