Alien Sightings
We've been hearing about sightings of aliens all over the country lately.  Everyone's seeing them; they're all over.  It seems as though they finally decided to invade and they started with us.  Then again, they are right across the border.  Of course I'm not talking about extraterrestrials, those dangerous little green men in the flying dinner plates.  I'm talking about a real threat.  Illegal aliens are flooding this country.  There are 11,000,000 of them out there and there are more coming every day.  Would that this were truly an invasion from outer splace--we could call up Bill Pullman and Will Smith and have the alien bastards shot and that would be that.  That would be a much simpler solution than any that are surfacing today.  But so much for wishful thinking.

Let's get down to the facts.  There are 11,000,000 people in this country that don't belong here, didn't come here legally, aren't on any books, don't pay any taxes and still enjoy the benefits of our growing 'social welfare' system.  And nothing is being done; well, almost nothing.  Our taxes are going to pay for radical segregationist schools of Mexican culture, such as the Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles.  The principal of that school has said that he believes his school to be part of "a larger cultural struggle" between Hispanics and the white man.  I'm willing to bet that these are the types of people to be hiding, employing or otherwise aiding and abetting illegal immigrants.  Of course, on the enforcement front, not much is being done either.  Recently, Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean have been brought up on charges and convicted on charges of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence.  This carries an automatic ten-year sentence.  Of course, the facts that the man they shot--who, by the way, was shot in the buttocks and was treated at government expense, as well as given immunity for the trial--was carrying several hundred pounds of marijuana across the border and attacked them first.  The important thing to the prosecution was that Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to pursue anyone until they get clearance from a supervisor, by which time the almost-pursuee is long gone.

So why isn't the government doing anything?  It's very simple and I'm sure you've already guessed that it has to do with politics.  See, the political situation for the Bush Administration at this point is very difficult.  With Bush's approval ratings in the dumpster and the Iraq War growing less popular every day, and mid-term elections coming up, Bush simply can't afford to disenfranchise the potentially huge Hispanic voting block.  He can't afford to spend that political clout yet.  In fact, it's unlikely that he will ever be able to spend that clout.  It's too much, and he hasn't got nearly enough time left to get it back for use on other issues.  So that's why the federal government isn't addressing the issue--right or wrong, it's a fact and it applies to Republicans and Democrats alike.  That's why there aren't any new laws on the books and why enforcement seems to be lax.  At face value those two appear related, but they're really not.  See, the bureacrats see that no new laws are passed, and they know why.  They also see an opportunity to take it easy for a while, and cozy up the local political scene for themselves.  During the last administration, there were certain things government bureaucracy simply couldn't do.  Enforcing the law was one of those things.  And now they've become so used to doing nothing, they don't remember how to get back in gear.

So how can this problem be solved?  Again, very simple.  No new laws are needed.  We have laws that provide for the immediate deportation of illegals.  We just have to enforce them.  And the only way to do that is to fire the bureaucrats and hire people who can actually do the job.  We need tough, mean, uncaring people.  Bleeding-heart liberals dominate the government bureaucracy and they simply don't feel right removing people who don't belong here.  So we need to find people who don't give a damn.  Personally, I volunteer for the position.
