Our lives have continued to become more complicated & busy despite all the things that are around to make it "easier".  The world is moving at a faster pace than ever before.  We live in a society of instant gratification & self satisfaction.  We can easily fill our lives with being busy - even if it is with good things.  If there is one thing we need more of in our lives today it is the peace & quiet that only God can give.  How else can we expect to follow God's will or seek His guidance if we are too busy to even spend 10 minutes with Him each day? 



Being still is probably the hardest thing for us to do today.  We always have to be on the go or busy doing something.  Sometimes we might even feel guilty if we are just sitting...waiting to hear from God...listening for His voice & guidance.  Even though it is the hardest thing to do, it is probably one of the most important.  Think of it like this, if you are married, and you don't talk with your spouse or spend any time with him or her, what kind of a relationship would you have?  A pretty much non-existant one!  The more you spend time with the person, talking with them & interacting, the deeper your relationship grows & the closer you become.  It shows that you love, respect & care for the other person.  So it is with God.  The more we spend time with Him, talking with Him & interacting with Him, the deeper our relationship grows & the closer we become with Him.  This shows that we love, respect & care for God.  The secret to letting God into the core of your life  is giving Him your time.  He wants to be involved in your hopes, dreams, goals, frustrations, joys...every little detail of your life here on earth.   I know I want the God of the universe to be interested in my life here & you should be too!



Now this doesn't make it any more easier to take the time to spend with Him.  Each of us easily has distractions every day that take up time during our day.  Don't get me wrong, many of these things are important & worthwhile.  I'm not telling you to neglect your family, work, friends, hobbies, etc.   Keep doing those things you love to do.  God enjoys giving these things to you as a blessing, but also tells us to use our time wisely as a gift from Him.  A relationship with God will make all the difference in your life and will give you a new perspective on your time that you spend with friends, family & doing all those wonderful things God has gifted you with.  So, if you have a difficult time finding the time to spend with God, ask Him to give you a deisre to set aside time to be with Him.  Make time each day to pray, reflect, refocus, regenerate, & interact with God.  "Delight yourself in the Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart."  God desires to be a part of your life, take the time to get to know Him better.
