The intent and purpose behind this website is to give people an opportunity to have custom work done on weapons or tools and to also give people a new hobby. The steps that I took in creating this website and ensured that I met my objective were studying other blacksmith websites to see how their website layout was.
The reason for the design choices that I made for my website were to keep navigation simple and make every page eye-catching and easy to read. The overall design stays the same across each webpage making the website easy to access for everyone. The colors were meant to catch people's eyes but also be blacksmithing colors. The typography that I used was to keep text easy to read as well. Other things that I added were the color floats when having your cursor over the navigation bar and also over submit buttons to give the website some added flair.
Some things I would like to add to the website in the future could possibly be to add a newsletter that sends customers information from our business to keep them interested. I could also do weekly or bi-weekly videos for a fun, engaging way to keep people intrigued. If I had more time, I would have took the time to add a way to view old blogs on the blog webpage. Also, I would have changed the form on the custom ordering page to give it more personalization. Design-wise I was love to add better effects, such as scroll effects that move the webpage but not an image.
